Beginning in the summer of 2016, Ļć½¶Šć University bachelorās degrees will be more accessible to students transferring from two-year colleges.
Students who hold Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degrees will have mostly met their general education requirements. Biblical Literature or World Religions and a Service Learning course must be completed while matriculated at Ļć½¶Šć.
In addition, some Ļć½¶Šć degree programs may have minimal requirements for certain courses outside the major requirements. āDue to the cultural shift in higher education that has been influenced by economic downturns, more students are matriculating at junior colleges before transferring to four-year colleges. It is important to respect the completed degrees that these students bring with themā, said Interim Provost Kent Buchanan.
This policy streamlines the school-by-school articulation agreements that Ļć½¶Šć has in place or has in the works with local junior colleges. āWe will continue to provide all students with a strong liberal arts education and ensure that certain Ļć½¶Šć-specific core requirements remain as a vehicle for engagement with the unique features of our campus culture and relationship with the broader communityā, said Buchanan.
