Ļć½¶Šć Library launches podcast

podcast logo The first episode of the Ļć½¶Šć Library’s new podcast, , drops Tuesday, October 20.

Host, Courtney Bippley, is a Reference Librarian on Main Campus and came up with the idea in Fall 2019.

ā€œI realized more and more people were listening to podcasts and it seemed like something we could do to reach out to everyone on campus,ā€ she said. ā€œWhen the pandemic started I found myself wishing we had already started it. It’s a great way to stay connected during quarantine.ā€

Topics will range from open educational resources and cultural events to student interviews and success stories.

ā€œI think it’s important for the library to have a podcast because we have so few students on campus, and we want them to know we’re still here for them,ā€ she said. ā€œWe understand there’s a personal aspect to coming into the library and I hope the podcast can feel like you’ve got a little bit of the library at home.ā€

The first episode is about early voting as Bippley speaks to Erin Riney, Director of Student Engagement at Ļć½¶Šć.

Funding to purchase equipment for the podcast was made possible by the Ļć½¶Šć Foundation. This includes a service that will produce transcripts to make the podcast accessible.

New episodes will drop every other week and will be available on , , Apple Podcasts, and .

ā€œIf you have an interesting story, your class is doing something cool, or if there’s a new initiative at the College you want people to know about, I would love to hear about it,ā€ she said.ā€
