Business school hosts high school business academy

A three-day summer academy for high school students will combine fun activities with a preview of the college experience and careers in business.

 Ļć½¶Šć University’s Summer Business Academy for high school sophomores, juniors and seniors will be held July 22-24 in the Meinders School of Business on campus with field trips to sites around the city.

Each day will offer a unique experience. ā€œLeadership & OKC Thunderā€ will give students a behind-the-scenes look at the Ļć½¶Šć Thunder’s operations and a meeting with the team’s executive leadership team. ā€œManagement & Venture Capital in Bricktownā€ will introduce the process of starting and managing successful businesses. ā€œFinance & OKC Riversportā€ will show how Bloomberg Terminals work along with an adventurous trip to the Boathouse District to challenge its whitewater rafting course. 

ā€œThe Summer Business Academy is a fun, exciting and hands-on way to learn about the world of business,ā€ said Bob Greve, associate dean of the Meiners School of Business. ā€œIt’s also an opportunity to gain leadership skills and give an early boost to your career resume.ā€

Tuition is $195 and includes admission and transportation to each field trip, meals and snacks, and an academy T-shirt. More information and registration, due by July 12, is available online at .
